Utilization
Review
The Utilization Review department at Managed Benefit
Systems consists of Registered Nurses who review medical documents pertaining
to injured workers to determine if the injured worker's care is reasonable
and necessary in relation to the work injury sustained. The Utilization
Review nurses follow regulations instituted by the Department of Industrial
Accidents, which provides guidelines for treatment of injuries, and sets
time frames under which determinations should be made.
